Q: How can I recover my unpaid caregiver wages from my parents' estate attorney?

I was the caregiver for my father and received payments through a care agency, which deposited my pay into my parents' bank account. My father passed away on May 31, 2022, followed by my mother on July 19, 2022. My last paycheck was deposited in May 2022, and I discovered it after the estate account had been established. Despite providing all relevant documentation to the estate attorney, I have not received payment or a response to my inquiries. My most recent attempt to collect my money was in January 2025, after repeated attempts during 2024 yielded nothing. I am particularly concerned as the final accounting for the estate is being prepared, and I fear my payment might be incorrectly counted as estate property. I urgently need this money for my own support and am worried my sibling might claim a portion. How can I ensure my payment is recognized and returned to me by the attorney handling the estate?
