Q: How long must I keep a former resident's belongings on my porch before disposal?
My granddaughter, who moved out in November, took some of her belongings with her. She returned in March to collect the rest, but only took a portion and was supposed to return the same day for the rest. However, she hasn't come back, and her remaining belongings (boxes and bags of clothes, shoes, stuffed animals, and personal items) have been on my porch for 4 days. There was no written agreement as she lived with me for free, and I haven't been in touch with her due to disrespectful interactions. How long do I have to keep her belongings before I can dispose of them, especially since I've already informed her that her stuff would be on the porch for pickup?
