Q: Does child support end at 18 if my daughter fails to graduate from virtual school?
I live in Arkansas and have a court order to pay child support for my daughter, who lives in North Carolina. My decree states that child support continues until she is 18 or graduates from high school. My daughter, turning 18 at the end of May, was removed from public school due to attendance issues and failing grades, and enrolled in a virtual school in August 2023. She has been enrolled in the same classes for two years with only 45% completed. With little effort to progress or graduate on time, does child support discontinue on her 18th birthday according to Arkansas law, or do I have to continue paying until she graduates, even with her current virtual schooling situation?
