Q: How can my husband add my name to his house?

A: See a real estate attorney. It can probably be done by a quitclaim deed deeding the house from your husband to you and your husband as tenants by the entireties/husband and wife. Deeds are not all that expensive.

If the home is mortgaged, your husband might also want to check with his mortgage lender just to make sure they are ok with this.

There are some ramifications of this depending on when the property was purchased and when you married. If your husband acquired the property before marriage and he has never added you on the deed and if you divorced, then the property would be separate. But if he added your name now to the deed and you then got a divorce, it would be marital property. I am not suggesting you are going to get a divorce but I don't know the circumstances and why your husband wants to add your name to the deed. I am just saying he may need to be aware of the issue but if you are not planning on divorcing and your husband does not care then he can proceed.
