Q: How do I stop partner from keeping all of the rent from our property in Puerto Rico refusing to pay the taxes?

A: Hello and thank you for using JUSTIA. The best remedy is to speak with your partner and explain that taxes are an obligational part of life . One can go to mail for tax evation. If this remedy does not work then you Will have to file a court claim requesting the Court to order the partner to pay the taxes and pay you your share of the profits on the Property rentals. You may also consider using a third party rental agency such as an Attorney or employee to administrate the rental business, collect the rent, pay the taxes due and then distribute the profits to the owners of the rental business.
