A: You have a right to hire a new attorney if you are not comfortable with the service you are getting.

To determine the value of a case many factors have to be considered. How the injury occurred, how the injury effected you life, the nature, extent and cost of medical care.

A: No one can estimate what your case is "worth" without any information. If you are not satisfied with your current attorney, you can change attorneys. It's a good idea to talk to other attorneys first to see if they are interested in taking over before you fire the current one. You can also send a letter or email to the current attorney describing your dissatisfaction with their lack of communication and lack of responsiveness and expressing your intention to seek new counsel if the current office does not begin to communicate with you.

A: If you have been involved in an accident and have hired a lawyer to represent you, but have not been able to communicate with them for some time, there are several steps you can take to find out the status of your case and what it may be worth:

Send a written request for information: Send a written request to your lawyer asking for an update on the status of your case and what it may be worth. Be specific about the information you are seeking and include your contact information in case they need to reach you.

Contact the law firm: Try contacting the law firm directly to inquire about your case. Ask to speak to your case worker or lawyer, and explain that you have been trying to reach them without success.

Check court records: You can also check court records to see if any updates or filings have been made in your case. This can give you a general idea of the status of your case.

Hire a new attorney: If you are unable to communicate with your current lawyer and are concerned about the status of your case, you may want to consider hiring a new attorney to represent you. They can review your case and provide you with an update on its status.

It is important to remember that personal injury cases can take time to resolve, and it is not uncommon for there to be periods of little communication. However, your lawyer has a duty to keep you reasonably informed about the status of your case, and you have a right to be updated on its progress. If you continue to have difficulty communicating with your lawyer or case worker, you may want to consider seeking the advice of a legal professional or bar association for further guidance.
