Tarboro, NC asked in Contracts and Construction Law for North Carolina

Q: Plumbing company taken over 4 months to complete a job, possible damage home. Still can not use half our home. Case?

We had black water (sewage water) in our basement and top floor. Plumbing company was contacted to replace pipe from house to city sewage. Then contacted to replace pipe in the basement by removing slab. Insurance company was going to replace and repair things covered but has been unable to complete work because there has been standing water in basement from plumbing repairs. Children have had to live on couches upstairs for months because their rooms are in the basement. There may be damage to the foundation or damage from the standing water and we are having a specialist come to check. Plumbing company received $29,000.00 from the loan company because they released the funds even though I told them the water was not finish in my option. This has caused a hug amount of stress and financial burden on my family and we are interested to know if we have a case. I have photos and documentation of repairs and contact with the company as well as information from insurance and repair company.
