Detroit, MI asked in Civil Rights for Michigan

Q: Can I sue

Cops asked me to step out. They said they were going to have it towed. One of the officers asked for consent to search. I told them they did not have my consent. The officer then told me that she would do what is called an inventory search then. She started her inventory search by going thru the door pockets and looking under the floor mat on the drivers side. Not a reasonable place where valuables are use stored.

Then she put her hand on the seat and said she heard a crinkle. And when investigating the possible location of the heard crinkle she found a small amount of meth in a plastic bag. A bag that don't make crinkling sounds. Anyways. She continued to go thru my vehical but wrote nothing down as far as my valuable belongings. She pulled no tools out of there bags she didn't look in the bed of my truck took no pictures wrote down no serial numbers and didn't fill out a form or anything at all to document my belongings.
