Q: I want to sue my mortgage lender
I believe they have broken a number of laws. I live in Chicago, Illinois, where my condo is located. My lender is Bank of America. I'm a former real estate legal secretary, and I have considerable documentation. I want a lawyer who will salivate at the opportunity to go after Bank of America. I am on long-term Social Security Disability.
A: Unfortunately, you have not provided any facts that would allow anyone to determine whether you have a valid claim against the lender and how you have been damaged. Please repost with this information and it may be possible for someone to respond to your inquiry. Thanks
A: BOFA is not always a clean player in these things. I would gather all your mortgage documents, any letters from BOFA, get updated copies of your credit reports and have a detailed explanation of why you think something is illegal. Many times these companies files foreclosure and cannot prove ownership because they have "securitized" the debt, or sold it off in pieces and don't know who owns the pieces anymore, thus they do not own the debt they are suing on. Also, they may report inaccurate info. on your credit report. I suggest immediately talking to a consumer lawyer such as myself, or attorneys such as Tara Goodwin or Dan Edelman at Edelman and Combs.www.edcombs.com
