Q: Do I have to use a specialist Attorney, or can any lawyer do a bky? Figure a jack of all trades maybe cheaper.

A: For an attorney to represent you in the Bankruptcy Courts, he/she must be admited to the jurisdictional District Court. This requires additional education and testing, well beyond that of an average attorney. So, though a Bankruptcy Attorney may handle other areas of law, not all lawyer are qualified or permitted to do Bankruptcy.

A: In addition to the other attorney's comment. A jack of all trades is probably a poor choice if you have a complicated bankruptcy. A simple Chapter 7 is probably all that you would want to take to someone that dabbles in bankruptcy.
