Q: I am trying find official details of civil law suits a friend has filed. Where is the best place to search?
A friend of mine is incarcerated and am trying to verify what he is telling me about his law suits. Where is the best place to look on line? Is there one best place to look? Where do attorneys look?
A: In my county I can pull up a lot of public information online because I am registered wtih the local clerk in the county. The best thing to do is see if the county he has filed suits in has online access. If not, go to the clerk or clerks and ask to see the files. But he probably thinks he has federal suits going, so you might need to go see the federal clerks as well.
