Defuniak Springs, FL asked in Child Support for Florida

Q: If my childs father has been in child support arrears for 2 years what can I do about it?

He is court ordered to send $700 directly to me for child support. At one time he threatened to stop paying me so I filed with CSE but never received money through them. He paid me directly every month except one, in which is says he sent it to CSE but they claim they never received payment and I was then told by my ex (childs father) that he would not send another payment until it was cleared up so I freaked out and cancelled it through CSE and had him agree to an allotment directly from his paycheck every month in which I do receive. But that ONE month he refuses to pay for again saying he already paid it and I will have to get it from the state of Florida. BUT when I attempted to find out where it was, I was told HE would have to call for an investigation on the payment, but he will not, so I am out that month of support. In which I had to borrow money from my family to cover expenses for that month.

A: You can continue to use CSE to help collect support or hire private counsel.
