Q: My wife has taken & secreted our children (12 & 15) away from me. Can I call the police & file a criminal complaint?
A: Unless there is a Court Order setting forth the custody arrangement between you and your wife and/or you believe that your children are in danger (and have some sort of evidence to support said belief) you can call the police, but they likely will not get involved. You should file for custody and emergency custody in the Circuit Court of the county you reside in as soon as you can (although it is also a high burden to prove why you should be awarded temporary custody without some sort of evidence that would support that the children are in danger while in her care).
