Q: what legal right does a 17yo have? how much control does parent have over them seeing as they are no longer an juvenile
my friend is turning 17 December 13th, she is being control by her dad and forces to stay home cause he wont allow her to hang out with me, i am 27, she has attempted suicide and i am the very reason she is still alive and stable. her father knows this but still refuses to allow it and shes becoming more and more depressed and falling back into habits of cutting. I'm concerned for her well being. her father says in "inappropriate" for us do hang out but just recently gave his permission for her to do drugs not that shes going to but still.. she relies on me to keep her stable and when she tells her father how she feels he calls his suicidal daughter and failure and a disappointment to him which only makes her worse... what can i do to help her and what can she do on her own? can she leave? does he have a right to keep her from seeing her her friend who helps her stability (me). please i would like to know cause i fear she may be reaching the point of giving....
A:
Since when is a 17 year old an adult?
Frankly, her father's decision to keep his (currently) 16 year old daughter away from a 27 year old Is 100% legal and perfectly sane.
You Have zero rights. He does have a right to keep you away, and you are walking a very fine line.
