Asked in Family Law for Rhode Island

Q: After allegations were proven false by dcyf, why is judge still making me take drug screens weekly!!!

After leaving my abusive ex and daughters father, he tried to get sole custody behind my back(he does not work i have always been the childs sole provider) making false allegations, which no one will tell me exactly what they are, but they were thrown out by dcyf for absolutely no evidence to back up the claims. I have no criminal history or violent background, father does. In court judge forced me to drop restraining order, made me take an on the spot drug test which i passed, but wass told i still have to take weekly screens during work hours within a 24 hour period or its considered dirty and i could lose my daughter. How can this be possible i have done nothing wrong. He has legal counsel and i do not...i am going to lose my job if i have to go to providence every week during work hours....

A: When you have a problem like this, it is best to see a family court attorney and retain them to assist you. Without professional representation, you are at a disadvantage. Contact the RI Bar Association for a referral. Also, consider contacting RI Legal Service and asking for their assistance.
