Saint Petersburg, FL asked in Family Law for Florida

Q: G-kids taken from their mom are going to be put up for adoption, will I still be able to see them?

They were taken for negligence, mom has not made enough effort to get them back. The state is petitioning for adotion/foster care. Currently they are staying at the Youth Ranch and I have visitation with them, will this continue if they go into foster care?

A: You are probably misinformed and as a result do not know the right questions to ask. An adoption of them cannot take place without a termination of parental rights. What does the case worker say about seeing them? Ask around and when it gets too misleading or confusing, go see an attorney.

A: Once parent's rights are terminated these children will no longer be affiliated with you. Therefore, absent the adoptive family's consent and wishes you will not have any right to see them.
