Q: Can I apply for AOS if studying abroad?
I qualify to apply for a green card as a dependent of an international organization employee.
I currently study in Canada and was hoping to apply for AOS when I returned for four months over summer. I know I'd have to apply for a reentry permit if the green card wasn't processed in the four months, however I was wondering that since I have to live outside the US for long periods of time if I would be jeopordizing my aos as soon as I left (even though I don't intend to/ nor can I reside permanently in Canada after I finish my degree) .
