Q: I flew in from out of state for my DUI Trial in Scottsdale City Court but when i got to court my pub def canceled it!
How can they do that? I was fully prepared to go to trial & had all of my evidence ready to go. My pub def didn't believe I had all this evidence & when I arrived for my trial she said the prosecutor wanted to verify my evidence & canceled my trial & said they'd let me know once a new one is set! So now i have to fly back out to AZ AGAIN? I already showed up once & my trial was cancelled against my wishes! If it were ME that wanted to reschedule i know they would not, & too bad, they would have the trial anyway! If i appeared ready for trial but the prosecutor wanted to verify my evidence, can they just cancel it like that? He's had 3 yrs to verify my evidence! I told them 3 yrs ago about this evidence but they didnt believe it existed nor did they believe it was true! Shouldn't it be dismissed since i showed up prepared but the State didn't? I can't afford to keep flying back & forth from another state! Help!
