Q: I had civil case that i wanted to take to trial. My lawyer accepted an offer without my consent showed up at my house an

And told me i had to sign these papers because he already took the offer on my behalf. I have not spoke to him since or seen any other documents or anything. He had my case for five and a half years and i believe he was working with the other attorney's and stole my money. He will not answer any of my calls. What can i do. It's alot more to this this is just a summary of the incident.

A: There is a lot you can still do. The first thing I would do is create a paper trial. First, you should write your lawyer a letter and ask him to explain his or her version of the facts in writing. When does the lawyer claim that you accepted the offer?

Assuming there is enough money to generate the interest of another lawyer, you should contact a lawyer to see if they will further investigate. I don't know enough facts but I can tell you that is is not permissible to accept and finalize a settlement without the client's approval.
