Port Orange, FL asked in Juvenile Law for Florida

Q: Can my boyfriend do anything legally to move me out of my grandparents house?

I'm 16, my boyfriend is 20, and I currently live with my grandparents-they emotionally/mentally abuse me a lot. We live in DeLand, Florida. I will be 17 in October...

Can he legally file for anything that would initally allow me to move in with him. My birth father is 44 and does not work, therefore he lives on the same property as me, and my mother is currently not in my life, and most likely will never be.

I do not know exactly what process he and potentially I would have to go through to make it legal that I move in with him, or if there are any. I really hope that this can actually happen, please answer back soon. Thank you.

A: We have a great law library in Deland at the court house. Go there and ask about emancipation, or do an internet search for emancipation in FL. There is a good summary you can get online from our own county law library.
