Q: my ex moved out of state

my ex filed in providence ri to move to georgia. I agreed to it and asked for a future date to establish visitation ect. she moved with out ever saying anything. we were living in burrillville ri at the time. now over a year later (i have not seen or talked to her or my daughter) i have massachusetts coming after me for child support. is this legal? why is mass coming after me? can she just go like that and not let me see my child?

A: You need to meet with a practicing family law attorney in the state you live in. If you live, or work there, Massachusetts is probably seeking to enforce an order entered in another state. Support, visitation and custody are separate issues.
