Asked in Libel & Slander for Florida

Q: Being sued for defamation but have no money what should I be doing?

Ordered food that was delivered to my house with maggots. Took video posted it now being sued for defamation. They want 15000 or more for damages they claim to have in less than a month. The video is real the story is real. I am broke. Need solid advice have taken videos and posts down against my freewill. I feel as though my first amendment has just been crushed. Again I am broke what do I do now? Cannot afford legal representation. Can provide all info privately. Also got wind of an injunction being filed that says I have to Take all posts and videos down but already have. If I was rich trust me I would fight this till the end but I just want it to go away. Have kids to feed and cannot afford this.

A: If the video is real they are praying on the fact that you can't afford representation. Truth is an absolute defense. My advice, send a financial affidavit showing that any judgment against you would be worthless. Most people don't want to spend time and money on a lawsuit which has no chance of a payoff.

good luck.
