Asked in Personal Injury for Mississippi

Q: My husband was injured at work when a high voltage panel blew resulting in second and third degree burns.

On 5/21/15 my husband was injured when he turned a high voltage panel on.It arch, resulting in 2nd and 3rd degree burns. 2nd degree to his face and chest and 3rd to both arms. He did have skin graft done on both arms.

immediately following the accident he was rushed to the ER and transfer to a hospital with a burn unit where he spent a total of five days.

A workers comp claim has been made and he just received his 1st check.other than that we are in the dark on what happens next. We do not know what caused the panel to blow. It hear say that a coworker my be at fault.please keep in mind my husband actually had nothing to to with the actual work on the panel, he simply flip the switch to turn it on. So my question is since workers comp has already been filed is it to late to seek a personal injury lawyer?

A: In many states, a third-party claim might be possible even when there is worker's comp (if the facts support it). Talk to a local injury lawyer about the specifics.
