A: Whether an occupational injury is related to work is ultimately determined by the Workers' Compensation Commission after a hearing is held. I am sorry you feel appalled and used, but quite frankly that feeling is fairly common amongst those having to deal with workers compensation insurance. The insurance company most likely sent you to their doctor knowing that he or she would likely find the carpal tunnel unrelated to work. If you haven't done so, it is important to speak with a workers' compensation attorney to determine if you have a case. The legal fee in workers' compensation is on a contingency basis. Do not take the "employers" doctors' word for it.
