Cincinnati, OH asked in Immigration Law for Ohio

Q: I am a US citizen and plan to marry my fiance in Philippines.

I am currently working in Qatar and she will return to Qatar after we are married and her sponsorship papers are completed (under my sponsorship). My questions are

1. What filings will I need to make in order for her to come to the US with me for Christmas stay (7 days) 2015?

2. In May 2016 when I finish my contract in Qatar, I want her to return to US with me and obtain permanent status.

A: You should hire an attorney to help you with this. One mistake could cost you years. It isn't worth trying to do it on your own. Also, we would need to know when you are planning to marry relative to your travel...i.e., are you going to get married before or after this Christmas trip? Also, where you planning to marry. Finally, be very careful with Qatar. We cannot advise you on their immigration policies, but I can tell you that they can be pretty rough if you don't follow their rules.
