Harrisburg, PA asked in Workers' Compensation for Pennsylvania

Q: My employer's wc insurance denied my claim. Is my primary insurance required to pay for any plan covered treatment now?

I injured my knee during a fire drill, and my employer's worker's comp insurance denied my claim. Is my health insurance required to pay any doc visits or treatment that are covered by my plan related to the injury now? Or do I have to go through the appeal process first?

A: Your health insurance is not required to provide coverage, but if you do proceed with a workers' compensation claim they will have the right to seek reimbursement from the workers' compensation carrier.

A: There is a typo in my prior answer. It should have indicated that the health insurance is required to provide coverage.
