Q: HOW DO I FIND A ZONING LAWYER THAT DOES NOT CHARGE ON AN HOURLY BASIS???

A: You can use a search of attorneys in NJ for an attorney who will do it for a flat fee, but I would be surprised if anyone with a significant level of experience will do so, unless it is a very simple matter. Good luck.

If you insist on a set fee, the attorney you ask will likely quote you a fee calculated by multiplying the standard hourly rate by the maximum possible amount of attorney time which can reasonably be anticipated.

Thus, by insisting on a lump-sum fee, you are likely to spend more.
