A: Consult a Bankruptcy attorney. By filing for Bankruptcy you will eliminate the writ of execution.

A: Short of filing a bankruptcy, there is not a lot that you can do. Once the creditor that now holds the judgment, that creditor can have new writ of garnishment served on your new employer, garnishing 25% of your pay unless California has an exemption that protects more than 75% of your pay. The creditor will not know immediately. Thus, you should take advantage of a free initial consultation with an experienced bankruptcy attorney to find out what your options are.
