Glen Allen, VA asked in Traffic Tickets for Connecticut

Q: Suspended license in CT didnt know about or wasnt informed what can I do?

Received a ticket in CT several months ago and mailed in the form pleading not guilty. I never heard anything back from the DMV or court so apparently I missed the court date which resulted in suspended license. I found out when attempting to renew insurance and contact the DMV right away and did everything I needed to do. Keep in mind I never received anything at all about court dates, missing ticket, or even the suspension at all. I mailed everything I needed out last Tuesday and now the DMV is telling is can take 10 days to get it restored when its all electronic now. I am the only one in my house of 5 that drives and I have place to be and things to do this week so what can I do? They dropped the ball on sending me a single piece of paper and now Im the one hurting with all these fees and suspension. Is there anything I can do about this? If I get pulled over again especially with my kids in the car and it isnt restored I'm screwed.

A: You have done what you can do, but ask if there is anything that you can do. Go see a local attorney about this.
