Q: Can I leave the state of Florida underage without parent consent if it is for college?
I am a 17 year old senior and I am graduating early (in January) I want to attend college and I have all of my finances together. After a long conversation with my boyfriend we have determined it would be cheaper for us to live together out of state and go to college. Aside from this, a college in Kansas gives me better opportunities in my degree. I was not sure if I could leave the state of Florida at the age of 17 to attend college in Kansas without parent consent?
A: I suppose your parents have already given you reasons why this is unacceptable to them. You must obey your parents until you are 18. Negotiate a resolution with them.
