Q: Employment based green card and marriage based green card.
I have an approved i-129 petition, my H1b started on OCT 1, 2015. I will be going to visa stamping in the month of December, 2015. I came to do my masters from a US university in 2011 and graduated in 2013. I have been on F-1 visa. I have been working for my employer for the past 2 years. My employer feels that they need to start the Labor Certification for the process of obtaining Green card (through employment EB2). I also have a marriage proposal in which the women is a green card holder, and she will be naturalized soon. What conflicts do I face when my employer applies for Green card and later if my spouse apply for the marriage based Green card in future. How long does it take to get a Marriage based green card or Employment based green card ?
A:
There will be no conflicts as both of the applications will be handled separately, and without knowing which country you are from it is impossible to say whether marriage based green card will be faster or slower than the employment based.
