Plant City, FL asked in Animal / Dog Law for Florida

Q: Can I sue animal control for causing my dog to become very sick?

When I rescued my male dog from animal control he was in perfect condition. Great health my vet said so her self. About a month later I took him back to animal control to get him neutered. That's the policy, so I did. I brought him in at 8am he was home by 1 pm. He did good the first day. Then I woke up and his scrotum was extremely swollen and red. Animal control told me to take him back in so they could give him a steroid shot. The shot helped with the swelling and redness but brought other problems. He has zero appetite for food. He drinks some water. His eyes began to sink into his head and his third eyelid gets stucks in the middle of his eye on both sides and are very red. Took him to the pet er about a week after the steroid shot about two weeks after being fixed. Very dehydrated. 23 cc of fluid and two different medications. Cost about 200$. He started to do better but is now having seizures. What can and should I do about this situation?

A: No, you cannot sue in my opinion from what you have written. Take care of the dog is what you should do.
