Q: How to handle a previous fiance petition on I-129F form?

I'm a married, US citizen living in Ecuador. I've been married to an Ecuadorian (Non-Resident Alien) for 6 years and we have one son. We are beginning the process of our move to the US. This includes going through the K-3 Visa process for my spouse.

I noticed on the I-129F form, I must answer if I have made a fiance petition in the past. I did, over 15 years ago (K-1 visa application. It was approved). I never married this fiance and she decided to stay in Ecuador. However, on the I-129F form I must put the details of this petition including the A-Number and the specific date of the request. This is difficult information to obtain 15 years later as I have lost the paperwork and lost contact with this person. Any advice on how to handle this?

A: If you are married, you do not file the I-129F (which is for a fiancé). You file the I-130. I would be happy to file the case for you.
