Lake Jackson, TX asked in Personal Injury for Texas

Q: I got bit by a dog while delivering a pizza to a customers home, it was inside and growled and barked loudly.

They opened the door anyways and didnt have hold on their dog or put it away but instead opened the door and let it run out at me biting my leg. I ran inside their house to run from the dog because my car was parked on the side of the street, closed the door to keep the dog out and begged the woman inside to call the police because I didn't have my phone and didn't feel safe. The whole time the lady did not call the police or an ambulance, she just rolled her eyes and told me to calm down while I was screaming on the ground in her house. Now I am sick to my stomach anytime I'm at work delivering a pizza and i hear a dog bark. I had to go to the emergency room for the injury. I really wanted to know if I could file a negligence lawsuite for the situation.

A: You likely have a valid claim against the homeowner if you sustained injuries from the dog bite. Speak with some personal injury attorneys about the viability of your claim.
