Q: I have a question about truancy court for my son who is 17. I live in Rhode Island what can I expect.
He will be 18 on May 13 and are court date is the 24th. He missed 23 days I can only account for him a couple of those days the other days is because he does not like certain classes in school and he started working with his dads business. Please advise, what we can expect.
A: If he is scheduled to graduate this year, you may be able to negotiate favorable terms at the hearing. The best thing you could bring with you would be a practicing attorney familiar with the process and the law .
