Waynesboro, VA asked in Immigration Law for Virginia

Q: Can I go visit my country, with concealment issue?

I am a green card holder and I have been convicted of concealment of 18$ with 30 days of jail that got dismissed with 2 years. I could not get my citizenship because of that they said i have to wait for the 2 years then they will see if i can get or not. I want to go visit my country this summer can i go visit it and come back or they will prevent me from coming back to the USA? I am so worried about that because I am a student that will be graduating on December and I do not want to get kicked out from the country. My country is Egypt if that would matter.

A: Most attorneys are going to be hesitant to advise you on this specific question anonymously without knowing your specific facts and criminal history. If you have other criminal history, you very likely may have a problem. Before you leave, consult with a local immigration attorney. Your home country will not make a difference. Good luck.
