Norfolk, VA asked in Family Law and Child Support for Rhode Island

Q: Ceasing Child Support for recently turned 18 yr old...

My husband pays child support for his two children, one of them has just turned 18. He would like to petition the court to release him from paying support for the 18 yr old. Aside from the motion, what will he need to provide to the court??

A: An attorney will be most able to help you file the motion you require. Of course, he could go to the court and learn the procedure himself. . . but that may be more costly in terms of time and aggravation.
