Q: After i signed settlement agreement for auto insurance, how long do they have to pay me the settlement? I'm in Arizona.

There's no specified date of when they have to pay me by on the settlement agreement.

A: Typically, settlement checks are issued within 30 days. In many instances, the checks are issued sooner. In some, it ends up taking longer than the 30 days. In most states, there are no real penalties or reprecussions in the delayed issuance of a settlement check. Contact a local attorney if you do not have one to discuss the situation should the issuance of the check take longer than 30 days. Good luck.
