Q: Mediation next month & dont want insurance thinking I'm trying to milk them. Can I request future loss wages if...
I was in a auto accident and the other vechile was at fault. At the time of the accident I was not working (less than 6 months prior to accident I resigned from a job I worked at for about 8 years), but was in the process of finding a job. Due to the accident/injuries from the accident I wasn't and still can't work, so unfortunately I had to turn down a job offer, pull my resumes off job websites and stop applying for potential new jobs/position. Can I claim loss/future loss work wages?
A:
First if you are disabled from working it's serious, you should have at least a free consult with a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. You can definitely claim wage loss. You should see if your state has a department of vocational rehab that can help you with job searches etc.
You need to be able to identify the job, wages etc. The curve ball will be that they can say "how did you know you would have gotten the job..."
You also have a claim for future medical expenses, But there's a lot more and it's not d.i.y. time. Sorry, get at least the free consult.
