Q: My girlfriend has a D.V charge set on her as a felony. None of us pressed charges and she has no priors. What can I do.

Me and my girlfriend had been picking at little things and bickering eachother all week.Due to a recent round with bad luck. Low on rent e.t.c. but yesterday it was thrown way out of proportion and we got into a disagreement about something on social media.None of which was said was at all threatening. But it led to hand contact between me and my girlfriend. I never fully hit her full on but she did smack me a couple times but the type of smack a girl normally gives a guy when she's had it with his stuff. Nothing life threatening or even would leave a bruise. I have no injuries. But my girlfriend had thrown a candle at me which had hit my head while I was holding my baby but she had no idea the baby was in my hands. Due to the glass shattering my baby was grazed above his right eyebrow. But didn't suffer any traumatic injuries or bruising. Both of my kids are healthy and their mother takes an extremely good amount of care of them. Is there anything at all I can do to get her back home?

A: Not really. A criminal DV charge is something the district attorney controls. The victim can't just up and say 'I want to drop the charges' and have the case go away.

Be cooperative with your GF's lawyer and help them present a good defense. Your cooperation will hopefully make it apparent very quickly that the whole incident was blown out of proportion as you say.
