Q: I think my lawyer is conducting settlement negotiations with the other side without keeping me in the loop.

Is that allowed?

A: He should keep you informed of all work he's conducting on your behalf, but remember that you have sole ability to accept or deny a settlement while he has the ability to determine the strategy he'll pursue in your interests.
