A: There is no set amount of time from the time a release is settled to the time the insurance company (or counsel working on their behalf) sends the check to you or your attorney. I have seen checks take as little as a week to come in and others can take months of pushing the insurance company/opposing counsel to move their feet and get the check out.

A: Generally takes 3-5 weeks. However, if a lien is asserted by Medicare, that can take a looong time to resolve; liens from others usually shorter, but ERISA plans are becoming very hardball. My advice--you waited this long, chill. If you have a landlord breathing down your neck, your lawyer can give them a "letter of protection" if you need it. But your lawyer got your money--call her or him.
