Cleveland, OH asked in Criminal Law, Domestic Violence and Municipal Law for Ohio

Q: I'm being charged with felonious assault against my girlfriend...Will it be dismissed?

I was leaving her house and closed the door behind myself and her finger got smashed and broken in the door. I didn't know that she had her hand there. It was not intentional on my part. The EMS lady called a detective and a F2 warrant was placed for my arrest on me. I have no prior convictions.

A: Don't expect the prosecutor to just dismiss the case because you say it was an accident. You need to get a lawyer. This is a very serious charge.
