Lithonia, GA asked in Workers' Compensation for Georgia

Q: Year long workers comp case. Been in the settlement process for the past 2 months but my injury is starting to flare up

My injury was a lower back injury that kept me out of work for 9 months (9 months of physical therapy and a spinal injection). Everything seemed ok but I've been getting similar pain and I'm not sure if it is something to be worried about or not. For the past few months I started to feel very minor aches and pains in my back. I talked to my Dr. about it on my final visit (3 months ago) & he said it was normal to feel tiny amounts of pain during my healing process. But I realized that it had been increasing. I would not compare it to the pain before the injection but it is a very noticeable and uncomfortable feeling. I still stretch almost every morning, have not returned to the gym In over a year, I don't do any heavy lifting or work, and I try to get out and walk a mile or two once a week. I'm not sure if this is "healing pain" or if this is something to legitimately be worried about. We are two months into settling but haven't got a counter offer. Is it possible to re open the case?

A: Some edpidurals do the trick, some need to be repeated. You want to bring this to the attention of your attorney.

A: It's possible to see your doctor again or see another doctor. You will want to retain an attorney to help guide you through the remainder of your case, if you haven't already. If you do have a lawyer, you should discuss these issues with her or him as soon as possible.
