Q: Do I need to appear in divorce court for motion summary judgement?

A: Depends on several things: If you have an attorney - ask your attorney but you likely do not need to appear. If you made the really dumb decision to do your own divorce and this is your motion, then in addition to paying more than you needed to and having to do all your own work to boot, yeah, youse gotta shlep yourself to Court. If you are the defendant and merely received a copy of the motion and you don't care one way or another about the divorce or are too busy planning a party to celebrate the fact that you may never see you soon to be ex ever again, then no you do not need to go to Court.
