Portsmouth, RI asked in Child Custody and Family Law for Rhode Island

Q: My ex lost custody over drugs, i won sole custody. When is he allowed to try & take me back for visitation?

Multi generation house(Sons)Dad in basement,grandma/her mom level 1, aunt & fam upstairs. All lie to me & keep info. Including his dads drug use & inappropriate acts involving my son & 2 of his cousins, they just keep pushing that my son is lying & pointing a finger at me (i know its not me/my family) behavior issues at school/home changed when I cut off visitation to them.I have him in therapy, &working w/ a school social worker & psychologist.I dont want the visitation/custody to change from what it is, i dont trust them & im sick of them defending eachother w/ the same line that they know when their child is lying & theyre not(same child that had cops at school for something n mom gave same line). They have already attempted to manipulate me, have multiple people contact me about same things, pointed the finger at me/my family members,& suggested i should cut off my family since thats what i did to them. Their family lied/withheld necessary info/disrespects my parenting&requests

A: This sounds like a complex mater that will require the assistance of a seasoned family court attorney. Do the best you can for your child, keep good records, and be prepared to present this when the time comes in court.
