Q: Is a permanent resident alien card Form I-551 with no expiration date still valid today?

The card was issued in 1981 and has no expiration date.

A: Your LPR status does not expire however the card does. It has been years since the government noticed all persons with the old card that they needed to get a replacement card. You should request a new card as soon as possible. There may be questions regarding your failure to request a new card years ago and your corresponding status.
