A: It would depend if the court seals such papers from public view. The clerk's office keeps the papers in what is usually public record, but often family matters are sealed. If the file is sealed automatically or otherwise, you need a court order. Regardless, the clerk's office is unlikely to be helpful in giving such papers to you if you do not have an attorney. Best advice: talk to an attorney about getting the papers and see what they recommend. I would expect you need to compensate the attorney for his or her time, however, in getting the papers for you.
