Humble, TX asked in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death for Texas

Q: Can I file for intentional infliction of emotional distress if I was lied to by my son's principal.

My son took his life in 2014 after being harassed by another student. He reported the student but the principal did nothing because he claimed they were unable to identify the other student. After my son's death, he told the same thing to me as well as my son's mother and her relatives. However, in the police report, he told the investigating officer that he had identified the student. For the past two and a half years, I have been both angry and worried about the student who harassed my son. Angry because he harassed my son and led him to Suicide, and worried because I believed he was out there carrying the burden of causing some one to take their own life.

Do I have and recourse against the principal for lying to me all this time, or against the school district?

A: A little late now as the statute of limitations is I believe 2 years. Why not talk to a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Assn--they give free consults.
