Q: Does insurance follow the car or the drivers?
Yesterday a driver stopped on the train tracks due to traffic, then the train started to come. So then she decided to reverse at full speed and attempt to make a Illegal U-turn, she ofcourse slammed into my parked car. Causing it to slam into a gate on other side. So needless to say it looks as if my car is a total loss. Police were called and she was given a ticket. I contacted her insurance company who then informed me they were going to tow my car to a gargage so their adjuster could look at it. They also informed me to take all my person belongings and the plates off my car. So as I got to work today to my surprise the car was still there and now is completely soaked from the rain beacuse the door dose not close. So I received call from the insurance company tell me that they will not be covering my car because the driver was not supposed to be driving that car. They told me to call my insurance company and i do not have collison coverage so what am i supposed to do?
A: You were in the totaled car and have injuries. Contact a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association--they give free consults. You can write the other driver, tell her her /owners insurance has denied, if she doesn't have insurance you will ask to have her and owner's licenses suspended.
